SilverKite Community Arts®, LLC brings in-person intergenerational arts workshops to several communities throughout Washington. These FREE workshops are for all ages and are open to the public. Watercolor: Create a Wax Resist Painting
January 9th
10:30 - 11:30am

In this workshop we will learn the popular technique in watercolor painting called wax resist. Participants will draw a pattern or drawing in wax then paint over it to discover the resistant nature of the wax, leaving clean lines and shapes untouched from the watercolor. Each participant will leave with a unique work of art and understanding of the basics of how to create a wax resist of their own.

Timber Ridge - Intergenerational Theatre Project

This 6-week series, produced in partnership by Timber Ridge at Talus and SilverKite Community Arts®, will bring together residents and community members, ages 12 -95+, to create a one-of-a-kind theatre performance.
 

Drawing from personal stories, memories, and reflections, the ensemble will devise a dynamic storytelling piece
using movement, improvisation, music, and creative collaboration to be shared with friends, family, and neighbors.


The cast will be made up of 6 - 7 community members. No experience is required.

Reindeer Crafts
December 20th
12:00 - 4:00pm

Join us in the park for a trio of reindeer-themed crafts! Add a little handmade holiday cheer to your day. Choose your level of challenge or try them all:


Easy:

Rocking Reindeer – paint and decorate a reindeer-inspired rock to take home or hide around the park.


Medium:

Jingle Bracelets – create your own reindeer-themed bracelet or beaded charm using bells, beads, and festive colors that sparkle and sound with every move OR Paper Puppet Reindeer – bring your reindeer to life with paper bags, clothespins, and pipe cleaners.


Hard:

Cork & Twine Reindeer Figurines – build a festive mini sculpture using corks, ribbons, and natural materials

Kidstock: Line Dancing Across Genres
January 19th

Join us for a line dancing workshop at Kidstock 2026! This free, full-day arts celebration (9:30am - 3:30pm) is designed for families with children of all ages, and features a variety of live music performances, arts education workshops, and activities for kids.

Collage: Goals, Dreams and What Matters Most

Through guided prompts, use the medium of collage to explore personal goals, dreams, and values.
Then translate those ideas creatively using images, words, textures and techniques such as cutting,
tearing and layering. Participants will make a unique piece of art to take with them.
