SilverKite Community Arts®, LLC brings in-person intergenerational arts workshops to several communities throughout Washington. These FREE workshops are for all ages and are open to the public. All workshops are taught by professional SilverKite teaching artists. Scroll to view our offerings and the communities at which they will take place!

Suncatchers / Kaleidoscopes
May 28th
5:00pm - 6:30pm

A vibrant, drop-in art experience marking the reopening of the park. Participants will explore light and color by making suncatchers, mini "disco" balls, and kaleidoscope-inspired art. This free event is open to all ages and skill levels. SilverKite Community Arts Teaching Artists will support both guided activities and open-ended creativity in a fun, community-centered space.

Pop Up Cards
June 3rd

In this beginner-friendly cardmaking workshop participants will create 3-dimensional cards that pop. Various folding and layering techniques will be explored while using colorful paper, paint pens and markers. Each participant will leave with 1-3 cards.

Mixed Media: Mandalas

This calming and creative workshop emphasizes self-expression while learning a basic approach to mandala making. Mandala, meaning “magic circle” in Sanskrit, is a geometric design with repeating patterns. A variety of materials of various textures and step-by step guidance are provided. Participants will leave with a completed colorful mandala.

​A short form of creative nonfiction, flash memoir focuses on bringing an impactful personal experience to the page. Participants will learn how to use precise language to create a “snapshot” in order to tell a distilled story. All levels are welcome.

Dance: Latin Dances
