SilverKite Community Arts®, LLC brings in-person intergenerational arts workshops to several communities throughout Washington. These FREE workshops are for all ages and are open to the public. Poetry All Around: Words of the Walkway
August 9th

Step into a playful outdoor poetry lab for all ages! Create pocket poems to carry or share, add your voice to the Community Poetry Board, chalk verses along the path, and join our take-a-poem, leave-a-poem exchange. With all supplies provided, this intergenerational workshop invites you to explore the walkway with fresh eyes -- and leave a little poetry along your way.

Meet & Make: Poetry Exchange -
Words of wonder! This interactive creative workshop invites you to write, share, and trade poems in a playful space. Respond to prompts, leave a poem for a stranger, or pick up a pocket poem verse that speaks to you. Whether heartfelt, funny, or wildly imaginative, every poem becomes a part of a growing circle of creativity, connection, and community. All supplies provided; no experience needed; bring your friends!

Come for the crafts, stay for the connection! All materials provided – just bring your imagination and favorite people. Let’s make art, memories, and new friendships – together.
Tables and chairs will be provided for seating with space for standing or other forms of mobility. Tents will be provided for sun and rain protection. Workshops will be rain or shine. No experience necessary.

Musicals, Movement and Reminiscence

In this interactive workshop, we’ll watch and listen to clips from popular and dynamic musicals. A SilverKite teaching artist will facilitate a reminiscence focused discussion based
on the memories generated by the clips. Inspired by the clips of choreography seen in the musicals, participants will learn movement phrases to dance either seated or standing.

Grooving to the Soundtrack of Summer

Feel the beat, move your feet! Join us for an all-ages outdoor dance party where the vibes are up and the rhythms are irresistible. Whether you're grooving solo, with friends, or in a family dance circle, come celebrate summer with fun movement, spontaneous dance moves, a few friendly routines, and a sun-soaked soundtrack full of feel-good tunes. No experience needed and variations for all modes of participation will be provided -- just bring your best moves and let the music carry you!
