Create threaded bookmarks and small woven keepsakes inspired by Seattle’s landscapes and layered identity.

Time & Location

Jul 11, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

SilverKite Community Arts®, 231 Summit Ave E, Seattle, WA 98102, USA

About the event

Create threaded bookmarks and small woven keepsakes inspired by Seattle’s landscapes and layered identity. Using beads, fibers, and fabrics, participants will design pieces that reflect the textures of the city – coffee culture, native plants, Tahoma and the mountain ranges, and the waters of the Puget Sound.

These handcrafted bookmarks become functional, everyday objects that carry meaning – small reminders of place, memory, and connection to the natural world woven into daily life.

We recognize SilverKite Community Arts® operates on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Stillaguamish, Muckleshoot, Puyallup, Snoqualmie and Tulalip tribes - past, present, and future - as well as those whose names we do not know. We honor, with gratitude, the tribal Elders of the Pacific Northwest and their descendants for their stewardship of the water, the land, and its inhabitants.

SilverKite stands in solidarity with the First Peoples of this land by paying Real Rent.
